  PD Dr. Michael Bortz | Head of Department "Optimisation - Technical Processes" @ Fraunhofer ITWM

  Michael Bortz joined the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Mathematics in Kaiserslautern in 2009, where he is now leading the department for optimization of technical processes. His research interests are in modeling, simulating, and optimizing processes in different application domains, including medical therapy planning, mechanical, and chemical engineering.

  Lukas Niemeier | Senior Specialist Digitalization @ BASF SE

  Lukas Niemeier is developing new business models and solutions at BASF Global Digital Services. Before that he was working for Dörken Coatings, a german SMU and Evonik Industries as well in the field of digitalization. In this session he will talk about statistical trial planning, DoE, machine learning supported ways of formulation optimization and how BASF is leveraging those via “Qritos”.
