How would you explain your solution in three sentences to a professional colleague from the health sector?
"VoiceMed leverages the power of artificial intelligence and vocal biomarkers to track respiratory health.Our mobile application provides clinically-validated breathing exercises and educational content, while our cloud-based back-end uses advanced machine learning to analyse user's audio recordings for personalised feedback.
This innovative approach offers a convenient, non-invasive, engaging and scalable solution for managing respiratory diseases while improving respiratory health."
What problem motivated you to start the company?
"We were motivated to start VoiceMed by the global challenge of healthcare accessibility, particularly in remote or underserved areas. Our solution democratises healthcare access, providing users with personalised feedback and educational content to better understand and manage their respiratory health anywhere with just a smartphone. Our team has a strong interdisciplinary background in different fields, which helped us form this company.
My parents are pulmonologists and everywhere I was, when I had a respiratory issue, I could call them and receive personalised care through my phone. I always wanted to help other people experience the same, your respiratory health track in your pocket."
How do you convince a pharmaceutical company, a health insurance company or another potential client to set up a pilot project with you?
"VoiceMed revolutionizes respiratory health management through AI-powered analysis of voice biomarkers during breathing exercises. This approach enables proactive management of respiratory issues, reducing healthcare costs while enhancing patient health. Our technology stands out for its simplicity and scalability. Patients can monitor their respiratory health using just a smartphone, making it accessible to over 6.5 billion people worldwide.

Who are your current customer (groups) and who do you want your potential customers to be?
"VoiceMed currently reached 2000+ asthma patients using our app for proactive respiratory health management. We initially focused on the UK market, leveraging digital media tools. Recently, we expanded into German-speaking countries, enhancing our international presence. Our strategic focus now centers on partnering with German health insurance companies to improve patient quality of life and reduce healthcare costs. We have ambitious plans for further expansion across the EU and into the US, aiming to make our AI-driven respiratory health management tool globally accessible. Our goal is to establish VoiceMed as a leading player, revolutionizing respiratory care and improving patient outcomes."
Where do you see yourself in 3 years and how can 5-HT support you?
"In 3 years, VoiceMed aims to be a leading player in European digital health. We strive to be the go-to solution for respiratory health management, known for our innovative approach and impactful patient outcomes. 5-HT's ecosystem can play a pivotal role in our growth by providing strategic connections, and potential partnerships. Leveraging 5-HT's network, we aim to accelerate expansion, enhance market understanding, and foster collaborations that redefine respiratory health management globally."
You participated in the 5-HT X-Linker Healthtech for Pharma in March 2023. What is your impression of the event and what have you gained (so far) from participating?
"We loved last year’s event 5-HT X-Linker Healthtech for Pharma, it gave us the opportunity to fast-track our discussion with pharma, and it increased our visibility. We liked the event so much that we applied also to participate in this year's event Insuring Digital Health 2023, to have more opportunities to collaborate with insurance, and both our growth in Germany and behind thanks to the 5-HT network!"
