Noah Therapies aims to put women's health at the centre and create a comprehensive platform for New Women's Health. The company's vision is based on the principles of holism, personalisation and care to help women better understand their health and make informed decisions. Dr. Kai Berner, CO-Founder of Noah Therapies, tells us how the founding idea came about, how they convinced potential customers and what their plans are for the future.

How would you explain your solution in three sentences to a health professional?

With Noah Therapies, we are building the first platform for New Women's Health. We help women learn about their health and make and implement the choices that are right for them. In doing so, we follow three principles: First, "holism" because we address health in all dimensions and with all approaches. Secondly, "personalisation", because every woman has her own needs. Thirdly, "care", because we want to treat each client with time, empathy and understanding.

What was the problem that motivated you to found the company?

From my previous work as a gynaecologist, I know: the concern about health and the associated insecurity is a constant companion in a woman's life. Up to 90% of women suffer from premenstrual syndrome (PMS). One in eight women develops breast cancer. One in four women experiences complications during pregnancy. Women are left to make most health decisions on their own because medicine has less and less time for patients and, as a result of increasing specialisation, has lost sight of the person behind an illness. Women have long since started to manage their own health - and we want to support them in this. 

How do you convince a pharmaceutical company, a health insurance company or another potential client to set up a pilot project with you? 

Our customers are first and foremost the users of our product. Any form of cooperation should therefore also benefit our users. At the same time, there are good examples and good reasons for cooperation: 
 
For health insurance companies, our solution offers cost and efficiency potentials. We want to empower women to take their health into their own hands and influence it positively - and health insurance companies are also interested in this. Informed patients are more satisfied, less stressed, make more conscious decisions, take fewer health risks and show greater adherence to therapy.
 
For pharmaceutical companies, our solution offers fundamentally new opportunities for research and development. With our product, we keep in touch with the end customers and accompany them along their entire patient journey. With the consistent pursuit of holism and personalisation, we are thus taking a decisive step towards the possibility of using real-world data (RWD) for the development of new therapies and applications. For pharmaceutical companies, this can be a real breakthrough, complementing or replacing clinical trials."

Who are your current customers (groups) and who do you want your potential customers to be? 

We see that our services are most in demand among younger women between the ages of 20 and 40. This group is very concerned with health, has a more holistic understanding of health and is willing to spend money on it - be it for digital applications, nutritional supplements or offers of complementary medicine.
 
The problem we are tackling is not a purely German problem. Worldwide, health has long since become a commodity that each of us wants and needs to take care of ourselves.
Our focus is currently on the DACH region, in the medium term we want to grow in other European countries and will also look at the American market.

Where do you see yourselves in 3 years and how can 5-HT support you?

In three years, we want to have built up a customer base of around 200 thousand regular users and thus lead the market for holistic and personalised women's health in Germany. In addition, we will have expanded our business model by then: The first employers will then offer Noah as an employee benefit, and the first health insurance companies will include Noah in their service portfolio. Above all, we are always grateful to 5-HT for contacts to health insurance companies.
