How would you explain your solution in three sentences to a professional colleague from the health sector?

"Medipee offers an integrated solution consisting of an app and device that enables digital, contactless urine analysis directly in the toilet at home. This technology detects a variety of diseases at an early stage and provides doctors with continuous data for better diagnosis. In doing so, we promote patients' health awareness and enable preventive measures."

What problem motivated you to start the company?

"The founding of Medipee was inspired by a personal tragedy: The death of the grandmother of one of our co-founders after an urinary and kidney stone operation from which she never recovered. Her attending physician emphasized that such diseases could be detected earlier or even prevented by regular urine analyses. However, the process is daunting for many due to its inconvenience and lack of hygiene. This dilemma led to Medipee's vision: a solution that integrates urinalysis simply, hygienically and seamlessly into everyday life."

How do you convince a pharmaceutical company, a health insurance company or another potential client to set up a pilot project with you?

"Medipee distinguishes itself through a unique combination of personal motivation and technological progress. Our inspiration comes from a personal experience that emphasizes the importance of regular urine analysis. This has led us to develop a user-friendly and hygienic solution that seamlessly integrates urinalysis into everyday life.

For pharmaceutical companies, we offer the opportunity to build a closer bond with patients and promote their adherence to medical recommendations. Medipee's continuous data collection can help to better monitor the effectiveness of medication and identify potential side effects at an early stage.

For health insurance companies and insurance providers, our solution means a potential reduction in healthcare costs. Early detection and prevention are key factors in avoiding more expensive treatments and hospitalizations. Who are your current customer (groups) and who do you want your potential customers to be?

"Our current customer groups are patients with recurrent urinary tract infections (UTIs) and urinary and kidney stones. These groups particularly benefit from the continuous monitoring and early detection that Medipee offers. But we see a wide range of applications for our solution: kidney disease, diabetes and the care sector also offer significant opportunities. The German market is the core of our current activities, but our vision goes far beyond that. Following successful implementation in Germany, we plan to roll out Medipee across Europe, with a particular focus on customization to specific requirements."

Where do you see yourself in 3 years and how can 5-HT support you?

"In 3 years, we plan to establish Medipee as the leading solution in Europe for contactless urinalysis. We aim to expand our device technology and cover a wider range of applications. The focus will be on an improved device version with extended functions. 5-HT can support us by providing us with access to networks, resources and expertise in the fields of technology and healthcare to realize our vision faster and more effectively."
