NuraLogix is one of Canada’s fastest rising tech companies whose sole vision is to bring their patented science-backed health wellness analytics software products to the market. The startup  developed a technique called Transdermal Optical Imaging™ (TOI™) which utilizes a conventional video camera to extract facial blood flow information from the human face. Applying advanced machine learning algorithms and neuroscience they´re able to use this information to model, detect and predict physiological and psychological affects regardless of the presence or absence of facial expressions. In an Interview with 5-HT Digital Hub Chemistry and Health Valerie Lasry, Director of Sales, EMEA & LATAM at NuraLogix Corporation talks about their unique solution.

How would you explain your solution in three sentences to a professional colleague from the health sector?

We have developed a disruptive software capability that enables the scanning of the vitals and health risk indicators with a mere 30second scan via any smart device with front facing camera. Validated with peer review studies and publications, GDPR, HIPPA compliant and currently in FDA submission.

Anura’s intended use is to increase people’s awareness of their general wellness.

What problem motivated you to start the company?

Creating a more ubiquitous healthcare system was our main objective when starting this company. The fact that we had a solution that works on mobile devices held by every-one, no matter whether young or old, rich or poor, made us realize how disruptive and helpful our solution is and how in a world where there is a lack of medical staff to cater to everyone, this would allow a quick simple assessment from the convenience of your home, as easy as taking a selfie. 

How do you convince a pharmaceutical company, a health insurance company, or another potential client to set up a pilot project with you?

The vast adoption by some of the largest and well-known companies after stringent due diligence gives us great validation for our solution. We have a portfolio of patents granted and pending on our unique solution, offer all the peer reviewed published publications to show that all research and studies was done and that we offer a medical grade accurate solution to our customers. Our solution also offers you today 30 different data points over a mere 30 second selfie with more in the research phase to be released this year; the other companies that have recently come out with similar solutions are nowhere near what we offer, and you are welcome to look into that.

Who are your current customer (groups) and who do you want your potential customers to be?

Our customers are in the various sectors and use cases. Mostly in Health & Wellness, such as Insurance; TeleHealth; Remote Monitoring for patients or elderly; Preventive care &/or patient engagement and Employee Assistance/Wellness Programs. We are active around the globe such as Asia : China, Singapore; Korea; Japan; Indonesia; Vietnam; Thailand; Hong Kong; Malaysia - Europe: Spain, Italy aiming for Germany; France; Switzerland; Holland - Middle East: UAE; KSA and Israel - LATAM: Brazil; Mexico; Chile; Argentina; Guatemala; Colombia aiming for Peru, Ecuador and Puerto Rico - Africa: Nigeria; West and East Africa; aiming for South Africa; Namibia; Zimbabwe and Australia.

Where do you see yourself in 3 years and how can 5-HT support you?

I hope to have a huge reach out in Germany, a great market which realized over the last few years the tremendous potential for digital health solutions to assist in the reforms within the country. I'd like more visibility to showcase this to the various corporates so that they understand the data we can provide for them to study, take action, engage or monitor. Soon FDA certified for BP, HR and RR, this could be used in the DIGA or other platforms for TeleHealth or Employee Health.
