Kimberly Breuer, Co-Founder & CEO at Likeminded, explains in an interview her goal of becoming the leading mental health provider in Europe with Likeminded over the next three years. Its digital platform supports the mental health and well-being of employees.

How would you explain your solution to a healthcare professional in three sentences?

“Likeminded is a digital platform to support the mental health of employees. It offers anonymous access to over 100 psychologists and other support formats for topics such as stress, overload and development. Customers such as Bosch, Congstar & FitX particularly appreciate the platform's intuitive use, flexibility and wide range of formats, as well as the partnership-based support that ensures minimal effort and scientifically proven effectiveness.”

What problem motivated you to found the company?

“The founding team of Likeminded (Kimberly Breuer, Maximilian Heberger & Josu Garcia de Albizu) realized in different ways that life has to offer more than just getting by. They were convinced that everyone has the ability to proactively shape their lives.

With the growing demand for psychological support and the continued stigma around mental health, they saw the need to make a change and founded Likeminded. Their idea was to create a solution that would empower as many people as possible to reach their full potential. A place for open conversations with like-minded people and experts - that's how Likeminded was born.”

How do you convince a pharmaceutical company, health insurance company, insurance company or other potential customer to set up a pilot project with you?

“There are many great, established and innovative solutions in the BGM sector, but we are convinced that there are a few points that make us stand out. Thanks to our experience in the B2C sector, we are particularly good at targeting employees and ensuring that our solution is actually used. While many solutions have followed suit in the last 1-2 years, we have focused from the beginning on collecting proprietary data and personalizing our solution with appropriate algorithms for better effectiveness. This has definitely paid off: we recently published a scientific study with the FU Berlin that proves the effectiveness of Likeminded and shows that we not only improve the well-being of employees, but also reduce intentions to quit.

Of course, our unique, competent and highly motivated team is also an important factor, working every day to create the greatest possible added value for our customers. In addition, our successes to date speak for themselves: over 100 well-known customers from various sectors, including Jack Wolfskin, Bosch, congstar, WPD Windmanager, About You and FitX, already place their trust in us. These successes and our strong partnerships make us the ideal partner.”

Who are your current customers (groups) and who are the potential customers?

“Our core market is currently the DACH region. We target companies with more than 200 employees that have a modern, innovative mindset and are digitally savvy.”

Where do you see yourselves in 3 years and how can 5-HT support you?

“Over the next three years, our goal with Likeminded is to become the leading provider of mental health in the workplace in Europe. We are delighted that 5-HT is supporting us in this by giving us access to a network of health experts, innovative ideas and potential partners and customers.”

You took part in the 5-HT X-linker “Innovation in occupational health management” in June 2024. What is your impression of the event and what have you gained from participating (so far)?

“It was great that two different worlds came together at the event: We got to know other BGM start-ups and were able to discuss challenges and solutions. We also gained insights into the BGM of established companies such as BASF and Merck. This exchange was exciting for us, as we were able to see which visions and solutions large corporations are pursuing or have already established. We also learned that there are still gaps in OHM in large companies, where innovative start-up ideas definitely have their place. Large corporations benefit from young ideas that introduce new perspectives and technologies.”
