Pronary taps the hidden potential of production data

The digital transformation makes it increasingly important for modern companies to be able to fall back on good and fully-fledged strategies. Artificial intelligence in particular is a modern technology that can help companies to optimize their own internal processes step by step. However, only 12% of German industrial companies are already using artificial intelligence in the context of Industrie 4.0. 

Against this backdrop, the Darmstadt-based chemical startup Pronary has been developing comprehensive analysis software for data-based process optimization since their founding in 2022.

In an interview with 5-HT Veysel Didier Kocamer, one of the three CEOs, explains the extensive applications of Pronary's analytics software and how companies can benefit from it. 

How would you explain your solution in three sentences to a professional colleague from the industrial sector?

"We enable production specialists to easily access process data. They can analyze it without programming knowledge and are supported by the use of modern data science algorithms and AI models. Whether the software is operated in the cloud or in the customer's own environment is up to the customer."

What problem motivated you to start the company?  

"We have made the experience that valuable data from production is often stored unused in so-called "data graveyards". In our view, however, they conceal immensely valuable information about the processes. But this information is not trivial to extract. In addition to the algorithmic knowledge of how to answer various questions on the basis of data, the amount of tools that have to be handled is often an additional complicating factor. This starts with the extraction of the data, continues with the posture and finally with the selection of a suitable analysis tool. Here, we want to offer an intuitive tool that covers the complete distance."

How do you convince an industrial group to set up a pilot project with you?

"A key point is our combined experience. We understand the difficulties and challenges of data analysis, especially of such large data volumes as they occur in production. We can convey this authentically and also offer a solution concept that is understandable.

Our Business Lead Seif brings a lot of experience from his time as a strategy consultant, always has the business added value in mind and can of course also communicate this super. With Artur, we have a Software Lead who does this with all his heart and soul. I have never seen anyone with such a broad portfolio of IT know-how, and with such depth. And I try my best to identify use cases and communicate an understandable solution concept. I think it is important to communicate credibly to understand the problems and provide solutions in simple words."

Who are your current customers (groups) and who do you want your potential customers to be?

"We are currently focusing on the chemical industry in Germany, but are generally also open to other sectors of the process industry. For example, we are also talking to representatives of animal feed production. For us, it is important that a certain degree of digitization is already in place. Ideally, we already have the appropriate interfaces for the data connection, otherwise we also have partners who can support us in implementing them. In case of doubt, however, you can always contact us and we can look at and evaluate the current situation together."

Where do you see yourselves in 3 years and how can 5-HT support you?

"In the next 3 years, we would like to be a major market player in Manufacturing Analytics. We hope to have a large number of satisfied partners and customers who can fully exploit the potential of their data through Pronary.

With 5-HT's large network and experience, we certainly hope to get the opportunities to get in touch with major companies to demonstrate the benefits of our software."
